There are 12 Schedules in Indian Constitution. In the original Indian Constitution which was adopted in 1949, it consisted of 8 Schedules.<\/strong> Today, with the amendments in the Indian Constitution, now there are a total of 12 Schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ninth schedule<\/strong> was added by the first Constitutional Amendment Act of 1951. In 1985, the 52nd Constitutional Amendment Act included the tenth schedule, which deals with the anti-defection law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1992, two consecutive Constitutional Amendments Acts were passed, 73rd and 74th, under which the 11th and 12th schedules were added to the Indian Constitution, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
