For Specialist teachers and Physical Education\u00a0 teachers, KTET is applicable\u00a0 up to High School level ( Category IV )<\/p>\n<p><strong>KTET Syllabus Category 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A person who intends to be qualified in more than one category ( Lower Primary classes, Upper Primary classes , High school classes and Language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu , (up to UP Level) , Specialist teachers and Physical Education teachers ) and possess the minimum qualifications for the respective categories, can specify this in the same application form (online) and appear for the examinations meant for these categories.<\/p>\n<p>There will be only one paper in this category. All questions will be Multiple Choice\u00a0 Questions (MCQs) with four options.<\/p>\n<p>Each question carries one mark.<\/p>\n<p>There will be four alternatives out of which one will be\u00a0 the\u00a0 correct answer. The syllabus\u00a0 shall\u00a0 focus on under standing the characteristics and needs of diverse learners,\u00a0 interaction with\u00a0 learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.<\/p>\n<p>The test items for\u00a0 Language\u00a0 \u2013 I (Malayalam\/Kannada\/Tamil) shall focus on the\u00a0 proficiencies related to\u00a0 the medium of instruction as chosen by the candidate at\u00a0 the time of submitting the application .<\/p>\n<p>Language II\u00a0 shall be from the prescribed options other than Language I. Candidates can choose any one language from the available language options\u00a0 and the same shall be\u00a0 specified in the application form. The test\u00a0 items in Language II focus on\u00a0 the elements\u00a0 of language, communication and comprehension abilities.<\/p>\n<p>The test items\u00a0 of Mathematics and Environmental Studies shall focus on\u00a0 the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In\u00a0 all these subject areas, the test items shall be evenly distributed over different\u00a0 divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes I\u00a0 &#8211; V by SCERT.<\/p>\n<p>The questions in the tests for Paper I will be based on the topics of the syllabus prescr bed for classes I &#8211; V, but\u00a0 the difficulty level , as well as linkages, could be up to the secondary stage .<\/p>\n<p><strong>KTET Syllabus Category 2<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be only one paper in this category. CATEGORY &#8211; I (for Lower Primary\u00a0 classes)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Minimum Qualifications to apply<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Higher Secondary\/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least\u00a0 45 % marks and two\u00a0 year Trained Teachers\u2019 Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination , Govt. of Keral a or\u00a0 its equivalent .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">OR<\/p>\n<p>Higher Secondary\/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2 &#8211; year\u00a0 Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with NCTE\u00a0 (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">OR<\/p>\n<p>Higher Secondary\/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">OR<\/p>\n<p>Higher Secondary\/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Educa tion).<\/p>\n<p>Relaxation\u00a0 of\u00a0 qualifying marks to apply for KTET \u2013 I<\/p>\n<p>Relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks is admissible for candidates belonging to SC\/ST and Differently abled\u00a0 categories. (as per the norms or as desired by the Govt. of Kerala) and\u00a0 relaxation of\u00a0 3 % in qualifying marks is admissible for OBC &amp; OEC candidates. Candidate awaiting the result of the final\u00a0 semester of exam like DEd, Bed etc also can\u00a0 apply for the KTET.<\/p>\n<p><strong>B. CATEGORY II: (for Upper Primary classes)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Minimum Qualifications to apply<\/em><\/p>\n<p>B.A \/ B.S c.\/ B.C om. and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education\/Trained Teachers\u2019 Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">OR<\/p>\n<p>B.A\/B.Sc\/ B.Com with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition , Norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">OR<\/p>\n<p>Higher Secondary\/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">OR<\/p>\n<p>Higher Secondary\/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year B.A\/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed.<\/p>\n<p>Relaxation of qualifying marks to apply for KTET &#8211; II<\/p>\n<p>Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC\/ST and Differently abled categories . A relaxation of 3% in the minimum qualifying marks is admissible for OBC &amp; OEC candidates.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>C. CATEGORY III ( for High School classes)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those who possess minimum educational qualifications as delineated here under are eligible to\u00a0 ap pear for K &#8211; TET III. The test is for HSAs in: (i) Malayalam (ii) English (iii)\u00a0 Hindi (iv) Sanskrit (v) Tamil (vi) Kannada (vii) Arabic (viii) Urdu (ix) Social Science (x)\u00a0 Physical Science (xi) Natural Science and (xii) Mathematics<\/p>\n<p><em>Minimum\u00a0 qualification to apply<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(i) BA\/BSc\/B.Com with at\u00a0 least 45 % marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject\u00a0 concerned (from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these\u00a0 qualifications from any other Universities recognized as equivalent thereto.)<\/p>\n<p>(ii) For Mathematics, Physics , Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, those who have MSc.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50% marks from one of the\u00a0 Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT will be eligible to apply.\u00a0 For Botany and Zoology subjects , those\u00a0 with MSc.Ed. Degree in Life Science\u00a0 with not less than 50% marks from\u00a0 any of the Regional Institutes of Education\u00a0 are eligible to apply.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: Candidates, who have acquired Diploma\/ Degree in teaching in any subject and are\u00a0 approved by Universities \/NCTE\/Board of Examinations \/Govt. of Kerala, are\u00a0 eligible to apply for KTET III. They will have to produce the equivalency certificate\u00a0 as recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala\/ Government\u00a0 of Kerala.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates\u00a0 who\u00a0 have\u00a0 acquired\u00a0 their qualifications\u00a0 through\u00a0 recognized correspondence courses\/ Open universities should obtain and furnish certificates of\u00a0 recognition and equivalency from any one of the Universities in Kerala.<\/p>\n<p>For considering the minimum qualifications , the marks for main and\u00a0 subsidiary papers\u00a0 only will be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Relaxation of\u00a0 qualifying marks\u00a0 to apply for KTET &#8211; III<\/p>\n<p>Candidates belonging to SC\/ST and differently abled\u00a0 categories\u00a0 shall be granted a relaxation\u00a0 of 5% marks in the minimum qualifying marks . CATEGORY &#8211; IV<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For Language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit , Urdu ( up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers and Physical Education teachers (up to High School l evel)<\/p>\n<p>For teachers of Art Education and Craft Education, the existing , eligibility norms prescribed by the State Government shall be applicable till the time when NCTE lays down the minimum qualification.<\/p>\n<p>This test will be for the category of candidates who intends to be a language teacher up to Upper Primary classes and fulfills the minimum qualifications (For specialist teachers &amp; Physical Education teachers , the Eligibility Test is applicable up to High School level).<\/p>\n<p><em>Minimum Qualifications to apply<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Those who have acquired qualifications for the posts of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit &amp; Urdu ( up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers &amp; Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI of KERALA EDUCATION ACT AND RULES are eligible to apply for KTET &#8211; IV .<\/p>\n<p>Note &#8211; Candidates, who have acquired Certificate\/ Diploma\/ Degree in teaching in any subject, and are approved by Universities\/NCTE\/ Board of Examinations\/ Government of Kerala, are eligible to apply for KTET &#8211; IV .<\/p>\n<p>Relaxation of qualifying marks to apply for KTET &#8211; IV<\/p>\n<p>Candidates belonging to SC\/ST and differently abled categories will be granted a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying marks prescribed for the eligibility to appear for the KTET &#8211; IV . The minimum requirement of a pass in second class for the qualifying examination shall not be applicable in such cases.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates belonging to OBC &amp; OEC categories will be granted a relaxation of 3% marks in the qualifying marks prescribed for the eligibility to appear for KTET &#8211; IV.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"pmarks\" class=\"strong_text\">KTET Passing Marks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A person who scores 60% or more in the KTET examination will be considered KTET passed or KTET qualified. This will be the qualifying marks for all categories however marks relaxation is there for reserved categories as listed below.<\/p>\n<p>For general candidates 60% or more marks ie 90 marks.<\/p>\n<p>For SC\/ST\/OBC\/OEC candidates requires 55% ie 82 marks.<\/p>\n<p>For PH and visually impaired candidates 50% ie 75 marks.<\/p>\n<p>Negative Marks : There shall be no negative marks for the test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award of KTET Certificate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates who are declared qualified will be awarded a certificate by the Secretary, Pareeksha Bhavan, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram on behalf of Govt. of Kerala, after verification of the original educational qualification certificates by the DEO\u2019s concerned. The qualified candidates should submit the original educational qualification certificates to the District Educational Officer concerned for verification to ascertain that they are eligible to apply for the examination on the date of application.<\/p>\n<p>The candidates who are eligible for mark relaxation coming under SC,ST,OBC, OEC, PH, Blind categories should submit relevant supporting documents.<\/p>\n<p>The date of submission of the original qualification certificates to the concerned District Educational Officers will be intimated later through medias after the publication of the
