The Indian electric car market has been growing at a fast pace. From new model launches to new brands coming into the market, the Indian EV map is growing fast. This month is going to be one of the most happening months for the Indian electric vehicle industry. Hero MotoCorp has launched its most affordable electric scooter, Vida VX2. Tesla is going to launch its first showroom in he country. Kia will launch its first locally manufactured electric car, Carens Clavis EV. Vietnamese electric vehicle giant VinFast will open bookings for its two upcoming electric SUVs - VF6 and VF7.

Vinfast Auto India has announced it will officially begin accepting pre-bookings for the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs from July 15, 2025. The Vietnamese automaker is preparing its arrival in the Indian market and has signed dealer partner agreements with 13 dealer groups. The electric vehicle manufacturer will commence operations in India with 32 dealerships across 27 cities nationwide, and will set up a 3S (sales, service & spares) network.

Ather Energy has announced it will be hosting its much-anticipated Community Day on August 30, 2025. The electric two-wheeler maker’s annual customer event was confirmed for a return last month, and promises big reveals from the company, particularly its new EL low-cost platform for upcoming electric scooters, as well as new concept vehicles. The 2025 Ather Community Day will be held at KTPO (Karnataka Trade Promotion Organisation) in Bengaluru.

Ranveer Singh, known for his performances in movies like Padmaavat, Gully Boy, 83, Lootera, and more, is an avid petrolhead, and the actor has now added his electric vehicle to the garage. Singh is known for doing things in his style, and his latest EV acquisition stands as a testimony to the same, with the star bringing home the GMC Hummer EV 3X. The American electric SUV is priced around ₹4.5 crore and has been specifically converted to the right-hand drive (RHD) guise for the Indian market.

Tesla has released its first teaser on its social media. The teaser is quite simple, you can see the Tesla s logo and ‘India’ text, and the caption says ‘Coming Soon’. The brand is already prepping to inaugurate its first dealership in India. It will be located in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. The first experience centre will open on July 15.

The latest electric car by Xiaomi, the YU7 SUV, has created a hype within the Chinese car market since more than 240,000 bookings were reserved in just 18 hours of it hitting the markets officially. The figures indicate the mounting momentum for the tech giant s push within the electric mobility segment, barely a year after it launched its first-ever vehicle, the SU7 sedan.

Tata Motors has announced that they secured 10,000 bookings of the Harrier EV on the very first day of opening the bookings. The brand recently announced that they have started the production of the electric SUV. The model will start arriving at dealerships soon, while deliveries are set to begin later this month.

Kia India has started testing the Syros EV out on the public roads. This means that the final specs are almost ready and it is being tested to ensure that it performs fine in real-life conditions. The brand will first launch the Carens Clavis EV and then the Syros EV will go on sale, probably before the year ends.

Mahindra and Mahindra have listened to the customer feedback and now they have introduced the larger 79 kWh battery pack to the Pack 2 variants of the XEV 9e and BE 6. Earlier, the Pack 2 variants were offered only with the smaller 59 kWh battery pack. A special mention goes to the brand for offering an option to the current Pack 2 customers to upgrade to the bigger battery pack.

Hero MotoCorp has entered the Indian electric two-wheeler market with its dedicated EV-only sub-brand Vida. Under the Vida sub-brand, the company now sells the Vida V2 electric scooter, which is available in three trim options - V2 Pro, V2 Plus and V2 Lite. Now, the EV manufacturer is gearing up for the launch of its latest product, VX2, which will come as a more affordable iteration compared to the V2.

Tata EV, shortly after announcing the prices of the Harrier EV, introduced the Stealth Edition of the SUV starting at ₹28.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Harrier EV Stealth Edition SUV is being offered only with a 75 kWh battery pack, but it is available in 4 different trim offerings. The special edition of the SUV can be had in Empowered 75 Stealth, Empowered 75 Stealth ACFC, Empowered 75 QWD Stealth and Empowered 75 QWD Stealth ACFC variant options.

Xiaomi has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of its all-new YU7 electric SUV in China, priced from RMB 253,000 (approximately ₹30.26 lakh). Following the success of its debut EV, the SU7 sedan, the YU7 is Xiaomi’s second foray into the automotive space and comes loaded with technology, performance, and customisation options.

Nissan has unveiled the new Leaf EV, which happens to be the latest avatar of the world s first mass-market electric car. From the Nissan Leaf s first entry into the showrooms in 2010 as a mass market EV pioneer to going laggard, the car has witnessed a lot of ups and downs. The Japanese carmaker has brought the third-generation Leaf EV with a major upgrade, not only on the design front, but also on the performance segment.

In a market dominated by electric scooters and price-point dynamics, Ahmedabad-based startup Matter is making a different bet. Rather than chase scale through subsidies or simplified platforms, the company is building what it calls a true electric motorcycle, designed not as a scooter in disguise but as a viable alternative to the country’s vast 125–180cc ICE segment.

Revolt Motors has announced the rollout of its 50,000th electric motorcycle from the brand’s production facility in Manesar, Haryana. One of the first movers in the electric two-wheeler space, the company began operations in August 2019 and initially retailed the RV400 electric motorcycle. Revolt’s range now comprises the RV400, RV1+, and RV BlazeX e-bikes.

Ultraviolette Automotive will enter the mass-market electric two-wheeler space next year and the company has garnered strong interest from buyers nearly a year before deliveries. The manufacturer has revealed that its maiden electric scooter Tesseract has garnered over 60,000 bookings, while the Shockwave electric off-roader has bagged 7,000 bookings so far. Both models are slated for delivery in the first quarter of 2026.

Tesla Inc. is officially gearing up to enter the Indian automotive market, with plans to open its first showrooms in July 2025. According to sources close to the matter, the electric vehicle pioneer will debut its presence in Mumbai by mid-July, followed by a second showroom in New Delhi shortly after. This long-anticipated move will mark the company’s formal entry into the world’s third-largest car market.

It s been more than four years since the German automaker announced the SSP, the all-encompassing electric vehicle of the OEM. Volkswagen s Scalable Systems Platform was originally expected to be ready by now, but it has been delayed until later this decade. This setback has been attributed to Volkswagen s software division Cariad. However, the auto major is revealing new details of the SSP.
